Binesh has effectively played the role of a mentor in various capacities. Mentoring is his second nature. He has been mentor for his students, colleagues, classmates, senior citizens and freshers.

2023

June

Binesh is nominated as the Chairperson for School of Business Management’s newest initiative – Dual degree programme with Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona State University.

July

Binesh takes up the responsibility as a faculty in-charge for international collaboration for developing dual-degree programmes with partner universities in US, UK, and Ireland, by working closely with the Director for International Linkages at NMIMS University.

2022

Binesh takes over as the Programme Chair for MBA Digital Transformation.

2021

June
Binesh is appointed as a Programme Chair for NMIMS School of Business Management’s niche dual-degree programme on business analytics – MBA in Decision Science and Analytics (DSA) and MS in Business Analytics and Information Management (Purdue University).

2020 – Present

Binesh is currently an Assistant Professor in Business Analytics at the School of Business Management at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai.

2018 – 2019

As a Senior Consultant at Deloitte Ireland, Binesh mentored analysts while delivering on-the-job training. He is among the two Subject Matter Experts chosen within the Analytics Service Line to design and deliver SQL training to analysts.

2017 – 2018

Binesh has been a member of the Alumni Society at Dublin City University (DCU). As an alumnus, he mentored B.Sc. Engineering students in the University as part of the DCU Structured Mentorship Programme. He effectively demystified the various myths students had about career and jobs; thereby helping them to widen their horizons and think Big.

2014

As a mentor in Inter – Generational Learning Programme at Dublin City University, Binesh played an active role in bridging the digital divide that exists in our society. He mentored senior citizens by hand-holding them to the world of today’s digital technology by teaching them how to operate their smartphones, surf Internet and communicate through emails.

2013 – 2014

As a Lecturer at Vidyalankar School of Information Technology (VSIT), Mumbai; Binesh taught various subjects to B.Sc. & M.Sc. Information Technology students. This included, Data Warehousing, Advanced SQL, Professional Communication Skills and Computer Networks.

Binesh encouraged active participation in the classroom through discussions, presentations and role-plays. Having worked both as a researcher as well as business consultant, he could bring deep industry knowledge into the classroom.

As a core-member of R&D Cell in VSIT; Binesh played a key role in establishing the Computer Society of India (CSI) Chapter in the institute. He established this society from scratch; beginning with creating awareness among students on the benefit of joining this society and then guiding them to use the society as a platform to promote industry engagement in the institute.

Binesh lead a team of 120+ Students from CSI:VSIT Student Chapter to successfully organize national events namely, VISMIT 2013 – VSIT’s first National Research Conference and TechHunt 2013 – India’s first Talent Hunt for Mobipreneurs – entrepreneurs focused on creating and promoting Mobile Apps. The latter was organized jointly by Nurture Talent Academy and Computer Society of India (CSI).

Under his mentorship a team of VSIT students competed nationally to reach the Grand Finale of TechHunt at IIT-Bombay. Recognizing his contributions and impact as a mentor, Binesh was among the “Top 7 Mentors Nationally” who were awarded the “Best Mentor” of the year.

2010 – 2011

Binesh commenced his journey as an academician in Birla College (‘A’ grade College affiliated to Mumbai University) as an Adjunct Faculty. He taught SQL and Advanced Databases to Final year B.Sc. Information Technology and Second year B.Sc. Computer Science students respectively. During this phase, he also actively mentored many students by demystifying many of their concerns and/or myths about career. He promoted industry engagement in his classroom by inviting guest speakers from the industry to share their insights into specific job requirements and opportunities in the market.

Binesh also taught Data Mining and Warehousing to Masters’ students in Information Technology as well as Masters’ students in Computer Science at SIES College, Sion (‘A’ grade College affiliated to Mumbai University). He was also an Adjunct faculty at SIES College, Nerul for the same subject during this period.

Being a researcher in data mining, Binesh was able to introduce many real-time applications and practical aspects of the subject which was cutting-edge; thereby making students industry-ready for next-generation jobs.
